Welcome to our web blog

You have reached Steve and Lynne's web blog for the sailing vessel Scarlet Lady our Jeanneau 42 DS.

Our voyages started in April 2012 when we left Sovereign Harbour in Eastbourne England to join up for the ARC Rally Portugal, an annual cruising and social event organised by the World Cruising Club. Our initial aim was to cruise in the Mediterranean for a while however, in 2014 we sold Scarlet Lady to purchase a larger yacht equipped for long distance cruising.

Big decision

Normally by now as the new sailing season is just around the corner, we would have our pilot books and charts spread out over the saloon table and objectives would be taking shape to head further East this coming season, however, for us this is not going to happen.

Plans have evolved...

When we started our adventures on Scarlet Lady, we had an open-ended time scale to cruise the Mediterranean Sea, and visit many of the bordering countries, however, plans developed during the course of our last season and over winter. Although, it is still our intention to come back to the Med some day.

With this in mind we have sold Scarlet Lady, and purchased a larger yacht specifically set up for long distance cruising, and in 2015 will start our voyages toward the Pacific. Please see below for links to our new videos below.

We would like to thank all those who have followed our blog. We hope it has given some insight into life afloat.

We could not sign off without paying respect and affection to Scarlet Lady, she has afforded us some of the most incredible experiences, and looked after us so well.

Finally, we wish Kelvin and Janet fair winds and calm seas as they start their new adventures as custodians of Scarlet Lady.

Handing over to very proud new owners, Kelvin and Janet

Until we meet again.

Steve and Lynne xx
